Chemicals

Chemicals are substances with a defined composition. They can represent pure substances or mixtures of various substances.

The term substance stands for a chemical element and its compounds in the natural state or obtained by any manufacturing process, including any additive necessary to preserve its stability and any impurity deriving from the process used. A mixture or solution is composed of two or more substances.

Hazardous substances are substances or mixtures with dangerous properties for humans and/or the environment, e.g. they may be explosive, noxious, corrosive, carcinogenic, harmful to the environment, etc.
